Ms. Mikki Tam is a US-trained Creative professional in retail branding and interior architecture design. She has practiced in Los Angeles, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo with diverse international creative experience and insights. She is now a Creative Entrepreneur based in Japan.
Tam graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Otis College of Art & Design in Los Angeles, and Master of Interior Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) specializing in Architecture Adaptive Reuse and User-centric design. Her professional experience spans from 4A advertising agencies to award-winning architecture firms in Los Angeles and New York. Mikki worked with global brands and Fortune 500 companies including Nike, Proctor & Gamble, Nokia and Citibank.
With over 20 years of experience leading creative projects in Branding and Retail Design, critical thinking, Design-thinking and user-experience remain key principles in her practices. Her creative leadership has brought many awards-winning designs to both agencies and global brands.
She now spends time evolving a multi-disciplinary entity, Taketombo Corporation, with a goal to bridge creativity, innovation and craftsmanship. Consultation scope of work focuses on retail and brand design, product design, craft revitalization and design organization building and management, and creative entrepreneurship coaching.
Taketombo Corporation has won international design awards in 2019 and 2020 for its creative business service insights.
