It all started from a casual FB chat with Dr. Yumi Yamamoto back in early February, when COVID-19 was peaking in China, Macau and Hong Kong. Disposable masks were already in short supply and started to impact availability to medical professionals. Dr. Yamamoto started experimenting making her own cloth masks and sent me photos of her progress. Mask-wearing is a common practice in Japan, we think it would be nice to share free information to as many people as we can in this time of hoarding and confusion.
In a time when all our health care workers are facing huge challenge in fighting the battle for us, why not make a mask?
So here you go... Please share.
Since the launch of this page, kind supporters have been sharing new ideas, photos and patterns. How effective is it using tissue paper as filter? What kind of wire? Click Gallery to view other references and download .
